Key Responsibilities:

  • The Wing Captain is an ambassador of goodwill; responsible for serving and assisting passengers and merchants of the Philadelphia International Airport. The Wing Captain is the primary platform for which Philadelphia MarketPlace and the Philadelphia International Airport will build and establish a favorable relationship with passengers, merchants, and employees, creating a positive outlook. A Wing Captain will posses an attitude of kindness, friendliness and willingness to help passengers, merchants, and employees with any and all requests. A professional demeanor and appearance is a must because a Wing Captain is a visible public relations role, in which they are to help foresee negative experiences by providing a favorable resolution to passengers, merchants and employees needs. A Wing Captain is also responsible for observing merchant operations for compliance with airport rules, regulations, and tenant sublease requirements and reporting all pertinent information relative to the concessions program to the appropriate management personnel.

Skills & Experience Requirements:

  • Support EDGE Merchant Program via materials, events, projects.
  • Support the Merchants by promoting their businesses to passengers via one-on-one encounters (interactions) throughout the airport.
  • Receive customer complaints, commendation, suggestion and inquiries and report to the appropriate manager.
  • Distribute/update/upkeep marketing information, memos, brochures and related airport material.
  • Be able to collect pertinent information (factual) for daily Report Writing, Incident Reports, etc. Also be able to ask appropriate and necessary questions to collect the proper information.
  • Observe the merchants/concessions program in the Terminals and Concourses responding to inquiries from customers, merchants and airport staff as required.
  • Monitor all Marketplace Philadelphia’s operating standards for compliance.
  • Respond to merchant requests and issues and notify appropriate Marketplace Philadelphia Management staff when further assistance is required.
  • Monitor and report all environmental cleanliness (food courts/trash cans), assisting in areas when absolutely necessary.
  • Inspect Loading docks, rear corridors, Marketplace Philadelphia Management/Merchant storage areas.
  • Assist passengers, travelers and airport staff with directions pertaining to the airport, City of Philadelphia, City’s surroundings, etc.
  • Assure all Marketplace Philadelphia Management/Merchants/Staff adhere to all FAA and DOA related security policies/life safety procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with merchants, management team, operations staff, D.O.A. and other airport entities.
  • Perform special projects and functions that may be assigned on an as-needed basis.
