JOB DESCRIPTION

 

I.              TITLE:                          Assistant Operations Manager

 

II.            DEPARTMENT: Operations

 

III.           REPORTS TO:              Operations Manager

 

IV.           JOB DESCRIPTION:    

Assist in supervising the overall day-to-day operations of the airport’s retail and food concessions program. This position is responsible for monitoring merchant operations for compliance with all airport rules and regulations and tenant sublease requirements. This position also includes the responsibility of supervising the proper procedures relative to the Retail Concessions Delivery and Distribution program, supervising operations housekeeping personnel, monitoring contract services for compliance with outlined scope of work, and reporting all pertinent information relative to the concessions program.  

 

V.            RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

·         Monitor retail and food operations in all Terminals and Concourses, respond to merchants, customers, DOA and housekeeping staff as required

·         Develop and maintain positive relationships with management,  merchants, contractors and  DOA

·         Assist in interviewing prospective employees for departmental positions

·         Assist in departmental training and supervisory development

·         Assist in reporting and resolving employee personnel issues

·         Assist in the completion of annual employee appraisals

·         Responsible for tracking operations employees attendance

·         Responsible for the completion, posting and management of weekly departmental schedule

·         Assist in processing all operational requests

·         Monitor trash and recycling program to maximize disposal tonnage

·         Monitor all MarketPlace Philadelphia Management operating standards for compliance

·         Monitor all operations employees for compliance with Standard Operating Procedures

·         Respond to merchant requests and issues and notify appropriate Management staff if further assistance is required

·         Responsible for tracking and monitoring all supplies and inventory

·         Assist in monitoring all contract services to verify completion of required scope of work

·         Ensure that all administrative reports are properly completed and filed

·         Monitor and assist as needed Special Services staff to assure proper execution of delivery and distribution procedures in accordance to established guidelines

·         Perform special projects and functions that may be assigned on an as-needed basis

·         Oversee all operational responsibilities in the absence of the Operations Manager

VII.         EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

·         High School diploma or equivalent education with at lease two years of business, two years of building maintenance experience and 3-5 years supervisory experience.  Must posses a valid driver’s license with a minimum of five years driving experience and reliable transportation.
