MarketPlace PHL, LLC is the private partner with the City of Philadelphia in the redevelopment of the food and retail program throughout Philadelphia International Airport. This passenger amenities program includes the 100,000 square-foot retail redevelopments of Terminals A through E, 10,000 square feet of stores and eateries in the new regional terminal, and the 21,000 square-foot retail development in the airport’s new 13-gate international terminal that opened in 2002. The program includes more than 160 in-line stores, restaurants, and services, plus almost 40+ special retail merchandising units.

MarketPlace PHL’s responsibilities include leasing, development and management. MarketPlace PHL is a partnership of MarketPlace Development and LeJeune and Associates.

MarketPlace Development (MPD), the managing general partner, is a real estate development firm founded in 1992, specializing in the planning, development and management of retail development projects at airports across the country. Headquartered in Boston, MA, MPD is a recognized leader in transportation, real estate development, retail leasing and management, architecture and design, and forming successful public/private partnerships.

LeJeune and Associates is partners with Marketplace PHL, LLC, in the development and management the retail offerings at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), one of the nation’s busiest and most prestigious concessions programs. LeJeune and Associates is responsible for onsite management of the PHL concessions program, including day-to-day operations and retail management, common area maintenance, marketing and customer service, ACDBE compliance, distribution and delivery, tenant relations, reporting, street pricing compliance, Philadelphia’s 21st Century Minimum Wage and Benefits Standard compliance, and tenant coordination and design. The company also manages the food and shop programs at Dulles International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. These combined three projects represent more than 300,000 square feet of specialty retail and food and beverage operations, as well as approximately $380 million in annual sales.

Since the company was founded, MarketPlace has been awarded some of the most challenging projects in the industry in addition to the retail redevelopment at Philadelphia International Airport.

Logan International Airport

The Massachusetts Port Authority selected MarketPlace Development in 2017 as the concessions manager for Logan Airport. MarketPlace is responsible for developing, leasing, marketing and managing the Authority’s concessions program with responsibility for overseeing the complete redevelopment and transformation of the concessions program.

Dulles International Airport

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority designated MarketPlace as the concessions manager for Dulles International Airport in 2012, responsible for marketing, leasing and management services for the food service and retail concessions throughout the airport.

Reagan National Airport

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority designated MarketPlace Development as the concessions manager for Reagan National Airport in 2012, responsible for marketing, leasing and management services for the food service and retail concessions throughout the airport.

LaGuardia Airport

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey selected MarketPlace Development in 1993 as its private partner in the retail redevelopment of LaGuardia’s largest terminal – Terminal B – the first such public/private collaboration at a Port Authority airport. MarketPlace was responsible for all stages of planning, development, leasing, management, marketing, and customer service for the Terminal B concessions program for over 22 years.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

MarketPlace Development was selected by the Port of Seattle in 2002 to provide leasing and concessions management services for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, which was in the midst of a multi-year capital improvement project designed to add the capacity needed to serve a growing region and transform Sea-Tac into a world-class airport.

San Francisco International Airport

MarketPlace Development, in partnership with the Reininga Corporation, a San Francisco based retail developer, was responsible for the tenant outreach, leasing and construction management of the food & beverage program in the New International Terminal at San Francisco International Airport.

O’Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway Airport
MarketPlace Development led the planning effort of a three-company team selected by the City of Chicago to professionalize 40,000 SF of existing specialty retail and to plan for the implementation of a first-class retail, food & beverage program at O’Hare’s three domestic terminals.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport
MarketPlace Development worked with Northwest Airlines to provide retail programming and planning advice in the design of a new $940 million, 74-gate terminal.
