Guava & Java and Sweet Flights Named PHL’s Restaurant and Retailer of the Third Quarter 2011-2012

PHILADELPHIA — April 16, 2012 — The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) announced Guava & Java, Concourse E, and Sweet Flights, Concourse C, as its Restaurant and Retailer of the Quarter, respectively, for Q3 2011-2012.

The Philadelphia Marketplace’s Cutting EDGE! Program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences) was designed to motivate and reward merchants. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service and participation in marketing programs. At the end of each quarter, the food merchant and retail merchant with the most points are named “Merchant of the Quarter” respectively.

Guava & Java proudly serves Philadelphia’s finest gourmet coffee- La Colombe, as well as smoothies, fresh sandwiches and paninis. The company now serves PHL passengers at three locations: Concourse E, Concourse A-East and Concourse B.

Located in Concourse C, Sweet Flights satisfies passengers’ cravings with sweet treats sold by the pound. The store carries a wide variety of candy and snack foods, from gummy candies to European gourmet chocolates to pretzels. Sweet Flights also includes specialty gift items such as souvenirs, greeting cards, and plush bears.

“Both of these merchants go above and beyond our customer service standards to treat each passenger as a welcomed guest,” said Anna DiGregorio, Director of Marketing for the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops. “I’m proud to recognize the team members at Guava & Java and Sweet Flights for their exceptional work this quarter.”
