MARKETPLACE PHL HIRES NEW MARKETING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER
Company announces new addition to leadership team
PHILADELPHIA — Oct. 31, 2019 — MarketPlace PHL, the management company for the award-winning concessions program at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), is pleased to announce the hiring of Megan O’Connell as Marketing and Customer Service Manager.
O’Connell will head the marketing initiatives for more than 170 stores, restaurants and services that comprise PHL Food and Shops, the highly recognized food and retail program at the airport. With a thorough understanding of retail business strategies and corporate marketing initiatives, O’Connell will take the lead in developing and expanding the company’s marketing presence and driving business strategy.
O’Connell comes to MarketPlace PHL from Insomnia Cookies, where she started in new store operations and worked her way up to marketing manager. She learned the ins and outs of retail operations, including store signage, construction, customer service, marketing, branding and content creation.
O’Connell graduated from Kutztown University with a bachelor’s degree in Communications, and then earned her master’s degree in Communications with a focus in advertising from Syracuse University. She says her degrees have prepared her to communicate effectively and efficiently within the business world. Most recently, her master’s degree has helped keep her up to date with the most current digital and social trends in the marketing space.
