Chickie’s and Pete’s Named “EDGE!” Winner

PHILADELPHIA — September 22, 2014 — The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) congratulates Chickie’s and Pete’s in Terminal A West as the 2013-2014 “Merchant of the Year” award recipient. The announcement came during a casino-themed celebration held at the IATSE Ballroom.

Anna Doucoure and Glenn Mosher, managers for Chickie’s and Pete’s, were awarded $1,000,the EDGE! trophy and the coveted title of Merchant of the Year. Chickie’s and Pete’s has been a Philadelphia name for decades, enchanting guests with zesty cuisine and a fun atmosphere. Voted ESPN’s #1 Sports Bar on the East Coast, Chickie’s and Pete’s serves guests at four locations throughout PHL.

The Philadelphia Marketplace’s Cutting EDGE! Program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences) was designed to motivate and reward merchants for providing great customer service to passengers at PHL. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service, marketing and training. At the end of each quarter, the merchant with the most points is named Merchant of the Quarter, and the merchant with the most points overall is named Merchant of the Year.

The restaurant and retail quarterly winners for 2013-2014 include:

  • Q1: Chickie’s & Pete’s (Terminal A West) and Roster (B/C Connector)
  • Q2: Jet Rock Bar & Grill (Terminal D) and InMotion Entertainment (D/E Connector)
  • Q3: Jet Rock Bar & Grill (Terminal B) and Soundbalance (Terminal F)
  • Q4: Cibo Bistro Gourmet Market (Terminal C) and Brighton Collectibles (B/C Connector)

“Chickie’s and Pete’s is recognized by travelers and locals as a Philly staple but tonight, we honor them for their commitment to their team and airport visitors,” said Mel Hannah, vice president and general manager of MarketPlace Philadelphia Management, the company responsible for the management and leasing operations of PHL’s 160 retail locations. “We’re proud of the work Jill’s team does and congratulate all of the merchants who were recognized this year.”
