Suite Addition to Food & Shops Lineup at Philadelphia International Airport

PHILADELPHIA—September 22, 2010—Passengers at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will soon have a private place to rest while traveling through the airport. The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops today announced the addition of Minute Suites, a traveler’s retreat that offers rentable individual suites.

Each suite comes equipped with a daybed sofa, pillows and fresh blankets. A 32-inch high-definition TV can be used to view the news, sports or a favorite show. The TV also converts to a computer with access to the internet and the airport’s flight tracking system. A desk, phone and office chair provides guests with a functional workspace. Laptop users can connect to the internet through the airport’s WiFi or direct connection port.

A sound masking system is installed in each suite to help neutralize sound and create a quite, stress-free environment. Minute Suites’ unique Nap26 audio program, designed to make you feel like you got three hours of sleep in just 26 minutes, is available to help deliver a refreshing powernap. Guests can also use the alarm clock in the suite or request a wake-up call.

“Unique and personalized services, like Minute Suites, are what we strive to deliver for our passengers at PHL,” said Clarence LeJeune, President of the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops. “Passengers will be able to experience a private, relaxing retreat within the airport, making their traveling experience even more enjoyable.”

The PHL Minute Suites location in the A/B Link will include 13 suites and two computer workstations. The first hour costs $30, and each additional 15 minutes cost $7.50. An overnight rate, from 11 p.m.—7 a.m., is available for $120. Discounts are available for stays of eight hours or more, and military, flight attendant and pilot specials are available.

Minute Suites first debuted at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in November 2009. PHL’s Minute Suites location is the first expansion outside of Atlanta.
