Vino Volo Named Philadelphia Marketplace Merchant of the First Quarter

The Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) announced Vino Volo as its merchant of the quarter for Q1 2008-2009.

The Philadelphia Marketplace’s EDGE! program (Excellence Drives Great Experiences) was designed to motivate and reward merchants. Each merchant can earn EDGE! points for exceeding expectations through great customer service. At the end of each quarter, the merchant with the most points is named “merchant of the quarter.”

Located in the B/C Connector, Vino Volo is an upscale wine bar and tasting lounge offering a wide variety of wines and sophisticated small plate dishes. A second location will be opening in the coming months in the airport’s new D/E Connector.

“Vino Volo truly exceeds their customers’ expectations,” said Anna DiGregorio, Director of Marketing for the Philadelphia Marketplace Food & Shops. “The staff goes above and beyond to make sure each customer’s time at PHL is an enjoyable one.”

Vino Volo offers airport passengers a sophisticated retreat from the hectic airport environment with fun and interactive wine tastings and small-plate gourmet food pairings with a packaged “to-go” option. A highly-trained team of Wine Associates helps make wine approachable. The company also has a patented tasting framework to ease customers through the wine discovery process. Vino Volo is redefining service in airports, recently ranking #1 in customer service among over 900 airport stores mystery shopped, and winning the highly coveted airport industry award for “Highest Regard for Customer Service” in both 2007 and 2008.
